Burçin Gümrükcü, born in Istanbul in 1977, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Marmara University and completed his Master’s degree in the Executive MBA program at Istanbul Technical University.
Commencing his professional career in the finance sector, Gümrükcü worked in Budget Reporting and Investor Relations Departments at Digiturk and Philip Morris International before transitioning to the retail sector.
During his tenure as Business Development Director at Unitim Holding from 2005 to 2009, he spearheaded the execution of market entry strategies and retail operations for globally renowned brands across Turkey, Romania, and CIS countries.
Between 2009 and 2011, Gümrükcü directed the market entry processes of American and Italian brands such as David’s Bridal and Carluccio’s into the Turkish market. Subsequently, he held the position of Commercial Director at Tchibo GMBH Turkey.
Building upon his retail sector expertise, until 2014, he served as Leasing Director at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), a prominent international commercial real estate leasing and management firm. Notable achievements include successful project implementations such as Zorlu Center, Aquaflorya, Vialand, Armada, and the Family Mall projects in Northern Iraq.
In 2014, Gümrükcü concluded his corporate tenure and established his own venture, Spaces Consultancy and Trade Inc., offering services in international and local brand representation as well as commercial real estate development.
Concurrently Gümrükcü led the realization of numerous commercial real estate development projects as a managing partner at MDM Real Estate Development Company from 2017 to 2023. He is recognized for his industry expertise and leadership qualities.
Married and a father of two, Gümrükcü is proficient in English.
